Hapkido Tip of the Week
September 21st, 2008
Multiple Opponent Combat is a regular occurrence nowadays. Here are some simple guidelines to ensure survival of one of these encounters.
1. Always try to run away, and draw attention to yourself. Don’t be a hero they outnumber you.
2. If you can, stay on your feet. The moment you start a ground battle they will swarm you and you’ll get kicked and stomped on.
3. If a fight is on, engage the largest (or the alpha) as fast and as hard as you can. This will open the eyes of the rest of the brood and make them think.
4. Keep the fighting short and sweet. Shouldn’t engage anyone for more than 3-5 seconds. Ever. Anything longer and they’re gonna grab you and hold you.
5. Keep your feet moving and think escape not fight.
That’s all for now. Enjoy.
